An ordinary Connecticut couple off to adopt a child in Russia find themselves suddenly trapped in a Hitchcockian thriller. This dark and disturbing true story takes the audience on a 90 minute one act wild ride through the streets of Moscow and into the hinterlands of Siberia. The show has been called both witty and terrifying and has, in 3 developmental readings, kept the audience on the edge of their seats.
Ms. Fuller lived the story told in the play "I PROMISE YOU A MIRACLE." The events she lived through were so traumatic that she told no one the story for over a decade. With recent events concerning Russia and stories of other adoptions from Russia featured in the news, Ms. Fuller decided it was time to find the courage to tell her story. Enlisting the help of her co-author, Joel Vig, Ms. Fuller now draws back the curtain to expose the lies and deceit she saw firsthand. With American adoptions of Russian children currently on hold, Ms. Fuller and Mr. Vig wanted to reveal what happened in hopes of helping other American adoptive parents when and if the possibility of Russian adoptions begins again. Both Elizabeth Fuller and Joel Vig are available for interviews from journalists and press representatives.
The authors will be performing a reading of the script in New York City on Monday November 13th at 7 PM at the Episcopal Actors Guild located at 1 East 29th Street (just east of 5th Avenue.) Admission is free but seats are limited.
